Manasalu Larkya Pass TrekkingThe main journey here is around Manasalu, reaching north of the Himalayas and circling the great Manasalu-Himalchuli-Buddha massif. Since Manasalu is a special area for trekkers and was only officially opened from 1991 onwards for trekking. Since then, the region has been opened up for organized groups. The major trekking seasons are between March-May and September-November. It needs special permits. Three-week complete treks will give you an exciting, adventurous and once in a life time experience. The seven Villages Development Committees (the smallest political unit) within the conservation area are: Sama, Lho, Prok, Bihi, Chumchet, Chhekampar and Sirdibas covering 1, Over 9,000 local inhabitants reside here and their main occupation is marginal agriculture, animal husbandry and seasonal migration for labor and trade during the winter months.

The region offers visitors a glimpse of pristine natural and cultural traditions that are fast disappearing from other parts of Nepal. Due to the prolonged isolation and contact with other urban people, the major ethnic groups, the Bhotiyas still have a strong sense of attachment towards their traditional local culture and rich natural heritage. The region harbors a mosaic of habitats for 33 species of mammals, including the elusive snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan Thar, Blue sheep, with over 110 species of birds, 11 species of butterflies and 3 species of reptiles. There are approx 200 species of plants, 11 types of forests and over 100 species of useful plants. The bio-climatic zones vary from sub-tropical to Nival. This trek starts from Gorkha, home to legendry Gorkha soldiers and follows the meandering Budhi Gandaki River of the Daraudi River before reaching Larkya Pass (5,106 m) and crossing over into Manang district of ACAP. The altitude rises from a Mere (600 m.) to the summit of Mt. Manasalu (8,163 m.), the eight highest peak in the world.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu; Greet and meet you at airport; Transfer to hotel; Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Half day guided city tours (Include world heritage sites: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupati Nath Temple, Swayambu Nath and Buddha Nath Stupa); Afternoon pre-trip discussion of the trek; Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Gorkha; (5-6 hrs.);

Day 04: Drive from Gorkha Bazzar to Arughat Bazzar; (4½ hrs.); 570 mtrs.

Day 05: Trek from Arughat Bazzar to Soti Khola; (6½ hrs.); 530 mtrs.

Day 06: Trek from Soti Khola to Machhi Khola; (6 hrs.); 890 mtrs.

Day 07: Trek from Machhi Khola to Jagat; (6 hrs.); 1350 mtrs.

Day 08: Trek from Jagat to Philim; (4 hrs.); 1700 mtrs.

Day 09: Trek from Philim to Deng; (6½hrs.); 2095 mtrs.

Day 10: Trek from Deng to Namrung; (5½ hrs.); 2900 mtrs.

Day 15: Trek from Samda to Larkya Phedi; (3½ hrs.); 4460 mtrs.

Day 16: Trek from Larkya Phedi to Bimthang V/A Larkya Pass; (7½ hrs.); 5135 mtrs and 3590 mtrs.

Day 17: Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani; (4 hrs.); 1860 mtrs.

Day 18: Trek from Dharapani to Jagat; (6 hrs.); 1360 mtrs.

Day 19: Trek from Jagat to Beshi Sahar; (7 hrs.); 760 mtrs.

Day 20: Drive from Besi Sahar to Kathmandu.

Day 21: Drop to airport for your final flight departure.
