Lower Dolpa Trek - 21 Days

Lower Dolpa TrekLower Dolpo Trek Dolpo is Located North West of Nepal; on the isolated corner of Trans Himalayan Zone Dolpo is a virgin and divine land. Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and Juphal, and you walk down to Dunai district head quitter of Dolpo. From Dunai you flow the thulo Bheri River through Tarakot and Do-Trap. From Do-Trap you will cross over Numa-La and Baga-La to Shey- Phoksundo Lake. Phoksundo is deepest Lake in entire Himalayan Region Dolpo is famous for snow leopards, Himalayan tahr (mountain goat) and blue sheep. A great Naturalist Rodney Jackson conducted his research on snow leopards in Shey Phoksundo area. Mother Nature created a unique and wonderful treasurer like Dolpo, which is being the shelter of many rare alpine living beings. In spite of tough trails and rugged topography journey to Dolpo area is a life time experience. Tourists rarely visit Dolpo Region and the trekking route is very narrow and steep at places, so good hiking experience is essential for this trek.

Attraction: Annapurna, Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges Throng Peak and Tibetan rugged mountains. Dolpa is the most remote and least developed isolated corner of Nepal, The region offers opportunities to visit ancient villages, high passes, beautiful Lakes, isolated Buddhist monasteries and also experience the vast array of wildlife inhabiting the region, including Blue sheep, Mountain Goat, Jackal, Wolf and the legendary Snow Leopard.


Lower Dolpa Trek Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu; greet and meet at airport and transfer to hotel; over night at hotel.

Day 02: Morning sightseeing at different natural and cultural heritage sites; Afternoon free in Kathmandu; overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj; Transfer to hotel, overnight a hotel

Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal, and trek from Juphal to Dunai; (3 hrs.); 2050 mtrs.

Day 05: Trek from Dunai to Tarakot; (6-7 hrs.); 2520 mtrs.

Day 06: Trek from Tarakot to Khani Gaon; (5-6 hrs.); 2540 mtrs.

Day 07: Trek from Khani Gaon to Chheur; (5-6 hrs.); 3610 mtrs.

Day 08: Trek from Chheur to Sishu Khola; (6-7 hrs.); 3770 mtrs.

Day 09: Trek from Sishu Khola to Dho; (6 hrs.); 4150 mtrs.

Day 10: Acclimation day in Dho and visit around the Dho.

Day 11: Trek from Dho to Numla High camp; (7 hrs.); 4580 mtrs.

Day 12: Trek from Numla High Camp to Bagala High Camp; (7 hrs.); 4565 mtrs.

Day 13: Trek from Bagala High Camp to Yak Kharka; (6 hrs.); 4180 mtrs.

Day 14: Trek from Yak Kharka to Phoksundo Lake; (4-5 hrs.); 3728 mtrs.

Day 15: Trek from Phoksundo Lake to Ringmo; (6 hrs.); 2760 mtrs.

Day 16: Rest day and sightseeing around in Ringmo.

Day 17: Trek from Ringmo to Sangta; (7-8 hrs.); 2520 mtrs.

Day 18: Trek from Sangta to Juphal; (5-6 hrs.); 2475 mtrs.

Day 19: Fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj, Overnight at Hotel in Nepalgunj.

Day 20: Fly from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu and afternoon free in Kathmandu, Overnight at hotel.

Day 21: Drop to you at airport for your final departure.
